LOCTITE® 4902™ and LOCTITE® 4903™
Michael Pomykala - Henkel Corporation
Speed and flexibility have always been known to be a trade-off for adhesives. Cyanoacrylates are considered to be some of the fastest and strongest adhesives available, but those properties also lend themselves to a rigid, brittle end product. Other adhesives such as light cure acrylics, hot melts, two component silicones and polyurethanes offer flexibility and fast cure speeds, but there is a trade-off with shear strengths, cost, ease of dispense or the ability to cure at all. Henkel has developed two LOCTITE® instant adhesives that offer high flexibility and high strength on a majority of substrates.

Sealants are used to block the penetration of liquids, gases, dust, and other contaminants by creating an adhesive barrier. Chemistries include anaerobic, silicone, polyurethane and UV curing, plus they are available with a wide range of properties including base chemistry, cure mechanisms, bond strength, elongation, viscosity and weatherability. Sealants are widely used for transportation, defense, consumer products, battery, general industry, lighting, medical, and power applications.
