Dow Corning manufacturers a variety of conformal coatings to meet the specific needs of electronics applications.  Conformal coatings protect electronic circuit boards, acting as barriers against environmental contaminants and as stress-relieving shock and vibration absorbers. Ellsworth stocks and sells a wide range of silicone and Low VOC coatings from three product curing families:

Solventless RTV elastomeric conformal coatings:

• Requires atmospheric moisture to cure.
• More environmentally friendly than solvent-based coatings.
• Rapid cure rates, which can be further accelerated by mild heat.
• Provides optimum stress relief for components and interconnections in a variety of service environments.
• Ideal for applications where low outgassing at package level or in confined environments is necessary.

Solventless heat cure conformal coatings:

• Designed for rapid processing at moderate temperatures (above 100 degrees C).
• Requires some heat to cure.
• Offers optimum stress relief for components and interconnections in a variety of service environments.

RTV Elastoplastic conformal coatings:

• Develops a firm, dry surface for better handling and abrasion resistance post-curing.
• Requires atmospheric moisture to cure.
• Rapid cure rates, which can be further accelerated by mild heat.
• Supplied in solvent, with low-VOC versions available.
